Join in the fun and have a winning season with the help of Skagway Spring Training. As a way to start the summer season, this week-long event is geared to help familiarize yourself with all things Skagway in seven short sessions. Learn about what you can spend your free time doing this summer, get a handle on top-notch customer service, become familiar with locally-made goods, learn about this history of Skagway, even become familiar with the new marijuana laws. If you are new to Skagway, or even if you are a year-round local, you won’t want to miss this event. See below for more detail on each of the seven sessions.
You have a business but how do you reach new consumers? How do you grow? During this 7-day program, SDC will be offering a Pivot Program to Skagway businesses interested in learning how make those next steps. This program includes one 1.5 day in-person workshop where participants will learn some of the in's and out's of digital marketing while also creating an action plan to improve your businesses presence online. Following the workshop, the learning doesn't stop there. Here from various resource representatives on topics such as exporting, manufacturing and promoting one's business through different avenues.
Finally, eligible businesses can apply to be one of the 10 randomly selected businesses for our ENHANCEMENT PHASE where the business will receive up to $10,000 in support from a professional marketing firm to bring your digital marketing action plan to life!
To support the continued growth and refinement of skills of our local entrepreneurs, SDC funds the annual community subscription of the LinkedIn Learning online training library. This service is accessible to any community member with an active Skagway Public Library card. Community members can access this service through public computers at the library or Small Business Resource Center or through private computers at home. All community members will need to sign-in are their library card number and the first 4 letters of the patrons last name serve as the password.
